Family Camp is a relaxing, all-inclusive weekend getaway where families enjoy camp activities together—kayaking, archery, crafts, hikes, and campfires—while staying in cozy cabins and sharing meals in our dining hall. It’s a great way to unplug, make memories, and reconnect in nature.
Any family or group of families can attend! You don’t need to be a current summer camper family or YMCA member. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends are welcome—everyone belongs at Camp Jewell.
Your weekend includes lodging, all meals, most activities, evening programs, and campfires. Some Arts and Crafts or horseback riding may be available for an additional fee.
Family Camp weekends are offered throughout the year, including Memorial Day Weekend, Labor Day Weekend, and Fall Family Camp. Specialty weekends such as Mother-Daughter Riding and Women’s Wellness are also available.
We are located in Colebrook, Connecticut, nestled in the foothills of the Berkshires, less than 2.5 hours from NYC and Boston. and under 60 minutes from the Hartford Area.
Families stay in heated cabins with shared bathrooms—one per cabin side. Most cabins sleep 8–12 people with bunk beds. Two families can share a cabin side if desired.
Yes. Please bring sleeping bags or bedding, towels, toiletries, and personal items.
Yes! All meals are served buffet-style in our dining hall. Vegetarian, gluten-free, and other dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice.
Yes. Solo families and small groups are welcome! Some cabins have minimum occupancy pricing; families may also choose hostel-style accommodations.

We run rain-friendly indoor activities—crafts, games, and program rotations—so the fun continues no matter the weather.
Yes—horseback riding is available during certain weekends, including our Mother-Daughter Riding Camp. Some sessions may require advance sign-ups or additional fees.
For safety and health reasons, pets are not allowed at camp.
Cell service is limited. We encourage families to unplug, though Wi-Fi is available in select common spaces.
