Camp Jewell YMCA offers traditional 2-week sleepaway camp sessions in Connecticut for campers ages 7–16. Families can choose from multiple summer sessions running June through August, with programs including classic overnight camp, horseback riding ranch camp, and leadership training programs.
How Our Tiered Pricing Works
Camp Jewell’s tiered pricing system allows families to choose the level of support that best fits their financial situation while ensuring every camper enjoys the same high-quality experience. Each tier reflects a different payment level, but there is no difference in the camp program, activities, cabins, meals, or overall experience between them. This approach helps us make camp accessible for all families while maintaining the excellence and safety that define our programs. Regardless of the tier chosen, every camper receives the same safe, inclusive, and life-changing Camp Jewell experience.
TIER 1
Reflects the full cost of camp operations, including staffing, meals, program supplies, and facility upkeep. Families selecting this tier help sustain camp’s quality and accessibility for others.
TIER 2
A partially supported rate for families who can pay a portion of the true cost but still need some assistance.
TIER 3
A significantly supported rate for families who would not otherwise be able to attend without help.
TIER 4
Our most supported rate, reserved for families applying for additional financial assistance through the YMCA’s scholarship program.

Frequently Asked Questions
When a session is listed as full, all available camper spaces have been taken at that time. However, we encourage you to join the waitlist—families’ summer plans often change, and we contact waitlisted families immediately when a spot opens. There’s no fee to join the waitlist, and spots typically move faster than you might think.
Your camp fee covers everything your camper needs for a great session at Camp Jewell YMCA—lodging, meals, activities, supervision, program supplies, and evening programs. There are no hidden charges. Optional extras, such as transportation or store accounts, are offered separately at registration.
Transportation is not automatically included in the camp fee. Camp Jewell offers optional round-trip and one-way bus transportation from select airports. For more information, please contact our office.
Yes. You may adjust your selected tier up or down at any point before your final balance is due, and we offer flexible payment plans that spread tuition evenly across the year. Just contact our camp office, and we’ll gladly work with you to make it manageable for your family.

Yes. Families selecting Tier 4 can complete a short financial-assistance application through the YMCA’s scholarship program. If you’re unsure which tier fits your situation, our team can guide you confidentially.
