One Camp, Two Distinct Properties
Camp Jewell features two separate, full-service properties within our 540 acres. Hide-A-Way Ranch, located across the lake from Camp Jewell, is a secluded facility, perfect for smaller groups of 100 or less. Camp Jewell, with capacity for over 500, is ideal for larger groups and events. Each property has it's own dining hall, group accommodations, chapel, conference spaces and charm.

Our facilities enable us to serve thousands of visitors each year who enjoy our beautiful 540 acres, friendly staff, and innovative programs. During the summer, campers and staff come together to form a vibrant camp community. In the Fall, Winter, and Spring, Outdoor Center guests come to enjoy camp through our conference, teambuilding, and outdoor education programs. Greek Life
Camp Jewell is a great place to bring new members, or an entire chapter, as well as Interfraternity and Pan-Hellenic councils. What better way to get to know your new brothers or sisters than to spend a few days living together off campus.  You can boost your chapter’s mission, philanthropy and organization through teambuilding programs, conference time, and recreational activities. Camp Jewell provides accommodations, food service, programming and conference spaces for groups of up to 400.  See pictures!

NCAA Sports Teams
At Camp Jewell we feature a teambuilding program that specializes in meeting the needs of NCAA sports teams. We believe that great sports teams are formed off the court, long before the first point is even scored. Thus, our sports team specific teambuilding program is the perfect season opener for a coach looking to build a championship team.

Activities
  • Personal goal settings
  • Team goal setting
  • Assessing group and individual strengths and weaknesses
  • Trust and communication building exercises
  • Problem solving activities
  • High and low ropes initiatives  See pictures!
  • Living in a community together for a few days away from outside distractions
Outcomes & Benefits
  • Your team will bond quickly through a process that cannot be duplicated in day-to-day practice and interaction.
  • Your team will enjoy “collective success” as opposed to a team dominated by individuals.
  • You will be provided the tools to bridge your experience in our program to daily application and then maintain it throughout the season.
  • On court or field performance will improve dramatically!
Our success is due, in part, to our inclusion of all members of the team; coaches, managers and trainers. Here are a few comments made by teams that have participated in our program.

“From the very first exercise, we were challenged. The facilities, staff, and location were all part of facilitating my team’s and individual player’s growth. I would recommend this experience for any team looking to build leadership, communication, listening and chemistry. It is something I will look at bringing my team back every couple years”. - Mark McCaleb, Women’s Basketball Coach, University of Bridgeport

“We also get to see just how physically and mentally strong our players are which can help us adjust their strength conditioning in the beginning of the season and teach them to think outside the box both on the court and in the classroom”. - Joanne Cobb, Women’s Basketball Coach, Brookdale Community College

We also work with colleges and universities of all sizes and level of competition, from the UCONN women’s basketball team to local community colleges.

If you are interested in learning more about how we can help your team perform as a more cohesive and successful group, please contact Katie Jilek at katie.jilek@ghymca.org or call (888) 412-2267.
